Artist	Michalis Makroulakis was born on May 31, 1940, in Ermoupolis- Cyclades, where he lived until 1957 when he moved to Athens. Ηe studied painting, scenography, and costume design at the Doxiadis School, under the supervision of artists such as Giannis Tsarouchis, Spyros Vassiliou, and Thanasis Apartis. Initially, he worked as a set designer in various theatrical scenes in Athens, while in 1971, on the occasion of painting a portrait of the Queen of Iran Farah Pahlavi, he traveled to the country where he settled and lived until 1978. He inaugurated his exhibition activity in 1963 and since then he has presented various of his works in group and solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad (Germany, Iran, etc.).
